Dodgy Rocks is a free action video game created by indie developer nivrig. If playing dungeon crawlers isn’t your thing and you fancy more an action arcade experience, then this is the game for you. In it, you only need to dodge falling rocks and other projectiles coming your way for as long as possible. However, that's easier said than done. The rocks will be falling endlessly and with each wave, they will fall at crazier high speeds. 

Dodge, kick, and smash

Dodgy Rocks come with a simple rule: avoid getting hit by the falling rocks and projectiles for as long as possible. The longer you dodge, the higher the score will be. However, the longer you stay in the game, the harder the levels will become. As noted, as you move to more and more waves, the number of falling rocks will increase, and their speed will become faster.  

Each rock you dodge will earn you a point. Be careful, though, as one hit and you will be out of the game. To help you clear more waves, you can also kick and smash the falling rocks. Doing so will also give you bonus points. Moreover, by using combo moves, you will be able to rack up your points. Speaking of points, the game comes with an online leaderboard. With this, you will be able to see how well you fare against other players. 

This indie game comes with an 8-bit game style reminiscent of the classic arcade games. Plus, although it has easy-to-play mechanics, it still provides a tutorial at the beginning. As mentioned, it has various difficulty levels to challenge you as the game progresses. There are even secret mechanics and combo moves you can discover that will help you rack up your bonus points. 

Simply addicting

Overall, Dodgy Rocks is one of those games that looks deceptively simple yet compellingly addictive. It has simple gameplay, which increases difficulty as you play to give you a challenge. More than the easy mechanics, it comes with a refreshing art style and background music that adds fun to your game. There isn’t much to do aside from dodging, kicking, and smashing, but you may find yourself playing the game for hours.
